Oh Sun

I don't know what this is exactly. A poem? Maybe. I was inspired to write something for a co-worker who recently passed. I was driving on 280 on my way to school and this came to mind:

Oh, Sun (unfinished)

Warmth seeping into each layer of my skin
As I drive the along highway, heading to my destination
You need not to fret your brightness and heat will impinge
For I gracefully travel along, knowing I am selfishly taking you all in

But you lay too far beneath
The soil, your barrier, keeps the rays out of your reach
Perhaps you do not feel something is missing
As I stand here, selfishly taking in with each layer of my skin

You measure the hours,
Lighting the early sky and darkening the day
The clouds immerse in your rays
An art exhibit of colors and textures, the sky your canvas

More to come.....
